History of COREtec
COREtec set out to create unique and sustainable luxury vinyl floors featuring a waterproof core and cork underlayment to reduce sounds and increase comfort.
In 2012, COREtec launched its new WPC floors and became the first to sell 100% waterproof vinyl floors. The floors offer extreme durability, realistic designs and textures, simple installation, and easy cleaning.
In 2015, COREtec received its first product patent for its 100% waterproof, kidproof, petproof core featured in our Originals collection.
COREtec is now the leading brand in luxury vinyl flooring. It is known for its high-quality engineered vinyl plank (EVP) and stone-plastic composite (SPC) flooring.
In 2016, Shaw Industries acquired COREtec, adding us to its portfolio of top-voted flooring brands. Shaw Industries, a subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway, is a company that focuses on resilient, waterproof flooring products designed to resemble natural wood and stone. COREtec is a brand under Shaw Industries that specializes in this type of flooring.
Many COREtec products include a cork underlayment, which adds sound insulation and comfort underfoot. Installation will vary by collection.
